Schülerlabor 2023

The Ruhr-Universitaet runs a Schülerlabor facility (a laboratory for carrying out experimental
projects for visiting school classes) which has been funded by the Alfried Krupp foundation. A
pilot experimental project for introducing school students to aspects of volcanology and diffusion
chronometry was set up and run on 26 May, 2023 with 30 students of the 10th grade from the
Gymnasium Schwelm. more

Scientists from the Research Unit 2881 talk about global volcanism and geologic timescales and offer a guided tour through different research labs and the rock and mineral collection of the RUB. Target groups are graduating high school students and all other people interested in these topics. more
